Our transformation

Ever thought about the complexity of the butterfly’s life cycle.  All butterflies have complete metamorphosis, a major change in their appearance and character.  The most interesting stage is when the caterpillar enters the chrysalis process which is where the caterpillar goes through the transformation of becoming a butterfly.  The short lived caterpillar’s old body parts are transforming and emerging into this new beautiful butterfly.

We also have a complete metamorphosis process.  We were once living our lives, like the short lived caterpillar, with one purpose in mind to serve the master of this world, whose spirit empowered us to do sinful things against God.  However, through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we enter into the chrysalis process, just as the caterpillar, when we accept the Lord Jesus Christ into our lives allowing the Holy Spirit to renew our minds and make us into a new person.  In other words, the Spirit transforms us to be like God.  You see, you should no longer reflect on the old you as it was short lived, it is irrelevant, it has no value in your new life.  You are a new creation in Christ the old has passed no longer in existence.

For many of us, we are still in the stage of transformation, however, one day this process will be completed when our mortal bodies are changed to immortal bodies and the perishable will be clothed with the imperishable, and then we will say “Death has been swallowed up in Victory,” 1 Corinthians 15:51-54.  Then we will fly as the beautiful butterfly when it emerges out of the pupa (chrysalis).  We too will be free to live in God’s kingdom forever and forever.

Romans 10:9
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
